Character Education
We believe that the way that we develop a young person's character through a wide number of opportunities will enhance their journey through school. From the very first week in Year 7, we open our students up to as many possibilities as we can; from a Residential Team-Building trip to becoming ambassadors, taking part in numerous societies and clubs, Year 7-9 choir and sport enrichment which is part of the timetable and much, much more!
Please see the Yate Academy pathway below. This road map outlines the 'wider experiences' that students will have during their time at Yate Academy.
We were thrilled to be awarded with the Character Kitemark Award in December 2019 (the report can be found in the documents below). We are now one of only 24 schools to achieve this award.
Yate Academy Societies
These societies will provide opportunities for students to explore areas outside of the curriculum with like-minded students, gaining insights into potential future careers, listen to key guest speakers in live and virtual lectures and work towards gaining Character badges.
Societies will run every Wednesday 3-4pm. Once we have all responses in we will then communicate when each year group will start to attend their societies.
BEFORE COMPLETING THIS FORM - PLEASE READ THE SOCIETIES BOOKLET BELOW TO FIND OUT MORE INFORMATION ON EACH SOCIETY
We would like as many students as possible to access our Societies. Please click on the link below to register for a place.
