Yate Academy Open Evening – Thursday 1st October 2026 (6:00 pm – 7:30 pm)

I am delighted to invite you to our upcoming Open Evening, as well as a series of Open Mornings, to discover what makes Yate Academy such a special place to learn and grow. Doors will open at 5:45pm.

We ensure that they have a dedicated, multi-layered pastoral safety net, including both Heads of Year and Heads of House, supporting them every step of the way.

Open Evening Details 

During the evening, I will be delivering a Headteacher's talk at 6:45pm in our auditorium to share our vision with you and talk about how we will support your child on their journey through secondary school.

Throughout the event, you will also have the opportunity to meet our exceptional teachers; explore our state of the art facilities and discover key aspects of life at Yate Academy:

• Academic Excellence & High Expectations: Disruption-free classrooms every single lesson, a curriculum designed to support and stretch all abilities, and daily retrieval practice to build real confidence.

• Deep Pastoral Care & Safeguarding: Comprehensive safeguarding, approachable non-teaching pastoral specialists, dedicated Heads of House and Heads of Year, our specialised support centre Evolve, and a Year 7 team-building trip to ensure every new student feels instantly supported and safe.

• Literacy & Reading Focus: A dedicated tutor time reading program featuring inspirational works such as The Midnight Zoo and Northern Lights, alongside one to one support for any student who needs help to catch up with their reading.

• Broad Enrichment & Performing Arts: Opportunities to shine in exciting school productions and performing arts, alongside timetabled Enrichment for every child, ranging from survival skills; learning a new language; computer programming and art classes to elite sports coaching and becoming an entrepreneur!

• Community & Pride: Regular 'Fun Friday' community events and a smart uniform that our students wear with pride as part of one team.

 

Open Mornings (8:30am – 10:00am) 

We warmly encourage you to visit us during a normal school day to see our classrooms in action. These start at 8:30am on:

• Monday 5th October | Tuesday 6th October | Wednesday 7th October | Thursday 8th October 

• Tuesday 13th October | Wednesday 14th October
