Post 18/ Futures Curriculum?

As part of our commitment to preparing students for life beyond Sixth Form, we deliver our Futures Curriculum—a comprehensive support system designed to help students make informed decisions about their next steps.

University Open Days & Visits

We encourage students to attend university Open Days at institutions they are considering. These visits give students a real taste of campus life and allow them to explore course options first-hand. They complement our internal Futures Programme activities where we deliver activities such as:

  • University talks

  • Campus visits

  • Subject-specific workshops

Year 12 Work Experience

All Year 12 students are expected to secure a Work Experience placement.

Due to the competitive nature of placements, students are encouraged to be early where possible.

Support Provided:

Work experience helps students:

  • Explore career interests

  • Build practical skills

  • Strengthen university and job applications

Degree Apprenticeships

We provide extensive guidance for students considering Degree Apprenticeships, including:

  • Assemblies with former students who share real experiences

  • Talks from leading apprenticeship providers

  • Weekly features in the Sixth Bulletin with opportunities and resources
