Expectations and behaviour
We aim to develop the whole child; physically, mentally, socially, emotionally and spiritually in order for them explore their potential and become successful, confident individuals. Our community is passionate about learning and we aim to make primary education an exciting and stimulating experience, preparing your child for a smooth transition to secondary education equipped with good literacy and numeracy skills, a positive attitude to learning and a range of happy memories.
Our behaviour system supports our belief that all teachers have the right to teach and all children have the right to learn. Woodlands primary has a warning system to allow pupils to make the right choices. If this opportunity is not taken up then children are given ‘time out’ either within the classroom or in another class –Parents are always informed to ensure we are working together. Children who consistently make the right choices are recognised and rewarded at the end of each term.
We believe that every day counts in a child’s education therefore our target for all pupils is an attendance of 96% and above. High levels of attendance and improved attendance are rewarded regularly through non uniform days, certificates and during weekly assemblies.
