The Sports Day Oath this year was written by Isabella Osborne in Year 7. This is a Yate Academy tradition and it is read to the whole school to signify the start of the competition. 

The Oath

In the name of all the competitors, I promise to push my body to the limits and cross the boundaries we all fear to venture into. We will show our true colours and display the meaning of exceptional sportsmanship. We will unveil how we stand together as friends, classes, guilds and most importantly an Academy. We will represent all we stand for as we show respect, excellence and friendship towards other competitors. May we all believe in ourselves, be humble in victory and united in loss.
